  • Yes! We love to call these introductory appointments. You will meet with the therapist you are interested in working with for 15-minutes (free) to meet, ask questions, and hear how they work in therapy.

When you reach out via contact form, by phone, or via email, we will help get you connected with the therapist for this appointment.

  • We are not in-network with insurance companies. Here is what we can do:

    • Out-of-pocket pay (aka private pay, self-pay),

    • Out-of-Network via us providing Superbills

(we can provide a form that walks you through the steps to know if you have out-of-network mental health benefits),

    • Group therapy (lower cost than individual therapy),

    • Therapist-in-Training (lower cost therapy)

For finding out if you have out-of-network benefits and what the reimbursement would be for you, please contact us and we will share a resource to find this out.

  • Fees vary by therapist. The best way to learn of associated therapy fees is to check out our therapist page here.

  • Each group therapy session is $50.

You can view the list of our group therapy offerings here.

  • This only applies to individual therapy at Better Minds.

While most of our therapists offer limited sliding fee spots, our internship program offers guarenteed low-fee therapy.

You can see our rates here.

  • An intern is one who is at the end of completing their advance degree (Master's or Doctorate). They are gaining experience and refining their skills. They also receive many hours (per week) of supervision from an experienced therapist.

Learn more here on the benefits of working with an intern.

  • We offer virtual therapy to those in:

    • Maryland,

    • New Jersey,

    • Pennsylvania,

    • Virginia.

Here you can find which therapist holds a clinical license in which state.

  • We primarily provide online therapy (aka teletherapy or telehealth appointments).

At times, there are opportunities to meet in-person with your therapist based upon location and scheduling. This will often look like walk-and-talk therapy. Confidentiality and other considerations will be reviewed on an individual basis.
